There are things you will not experience in life until you take certain steps. Your action serves as the input required to create the desired outcome. Longing to get something when nothing has gone in is like building a castle in the air.
Is this in the area of relationship, career, business, ministry, or life generally for you?
In the first year of our marriage, for instance, things were not going the way I anticipated before getting in. At some point, I was asking whether I made a mistake. Yes, that is the reality then. We had disagreements practically every other day. I had to call myself to order to do something about it. I didn’t just sit down and wish something will suddenly happen and everything will be fine. I took time to analyze the situation and realized that we were dealing with personalities, love languages, and cultural differences. More importantly, we realized that we were more focused on the actions than the intention behind those actions. The awareness brought fresh perspectives to us and we started leveraging each other strengths while we strive to help in the areas of weaknesses.
Wake up to this reality and do something about it:
Put in the required work in order to experience the desired outcome.
Develop a mentoring relationship in that area and remain consistent. It can help you spot grey areas to work on.
Always be open to learn and be willing to let go of certain things you do, especially when it doesn’t aid in moving ahead towards the desired outcome.
Celebrate yourself when you start noticing progress.
I must say that it is not something you get over with overnight. Give yourself time and celebrate every little progress as a way of staying motivated to go ahead.
