We are constantly faced with the events of life. Life they say happen to us all. One thing I have realised though is that one’s interpretation of life is a function of one’s past experiences. The view you have about life is a reflection of the value(s) you have imbibed. These values are products of your upbringing, training, culture, environment, association and location, which form your total being. And your total being will determine to what extent you will enjoy success in life.
Based on my findings, I have deduced that there are four different categories of people in life;
The first category of people are those who don’t have an understanding of what life entails. They grow up seeing the way things are done in their environment, they become entrenched in them and flow with things the way they are. They are basically driven by the beliefs and cultural mind-sets inherited from their environment or surroundings. They find it hard to think outside the norms in their society and are limited to the thinking of their environment. They never get to the point of understanding how life works. They basically live their lives as reactions to the events of life.
The second category of people are those who have a slight understanding of what life entails but have not been able to bring themselves to the point of doing what it requires. They have aspirations and wish to advance in life, but have not been able to translate their aspirations into physical manifestation.
The third category of people describes those who don’t just have aspirations, but have managed to translate their aspirations into progress and productivity in life. However when progress sets in, they get themselves involved in so many activities that eventually choke the initial progress experienced. This category seems to lack definite objectives of what they are meant to do in life. Dr Myles Munroe once said that when the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable.
The fourth and the last category of people to be considered are those who possess the same attributes as the third category but they have been able to take it to the next level. They don’t only have aspirations; they have well-defined objectives and also have the capability to push the set objectives into physical realities.
The focus of this post is on the fourth category of people with emphasis on what qualities they possess to get ahead successfully. The listed points highlight their unique qualities;
1. They have an open mind.
2. They are objective in their learning.
3. They have a flexible disposition to what they have learnt and considered right.
4. They are bold enough to take the necessary risks required.
5. They understand that success in life is in phases.
6. They are committed to continuous learning that guarantees continuous progress.
7. They acknowledge the place of God
Summarily, you need to identify your element. Functioning outside your element is functioning outside what I will call your “Ease-Zone”. The following steps show the simple steps to success in life;
1. Identify your element.
2. Develop yourself in line with your element.
3. Take Action; Make bold moves to do the necessary things.
4. Consistency MUST be maintained; what guarantees moving from smallness to greatness is the consistency of what you do with small opportunities.
5. Continuous improvement. This guarantees capacity building, and capacity building prepares you for your opportunities.
Walking through this piece of advice requires vision, discipline, willingness and courage to bring success your way, irrespective of the unfair environment or situation you might possibly find yourself in this world. This action will ultimately position you on a favourable side of life.
Lasting joy and success is guaranteed for your life as you take this leap. For more enquiry or contribution(s), please contact;
