Yippeee!!! It’s day 8 and today’s affirmation says
I am willing to embrace the differences in our interests and values. I choose to walk through disagreements constructively.
Do you agree that your opinions and interests sometime will be different from your partner?
How do you deal with disagreements when it comes up in your relationship?
‘’Varieties’’; they say, ‘’is the spice of life’’. Just as faces are different, that’s how interests and values differ in life. For example, I love romantic movies, my husband loves the action genre, infact the ones that they will use bullets and punches to finish their lives. I am more outgoing and fun loving, he is more serious minded and reserved. But these differences haven’t stopped us from building a beautiful relationship. The key is to find a balance and respect each other’s interests.
Forcing or compelling your spouse to always do things you enjoy doing or seeing things from only your perspective is a hallmark of immaturity and selfishness.
So tell yourself, I will be open to see things from others’ perspective. I will allow myself to enjoy others’ interests. I will not be rigid. I will give room for superior ideas irrespective of whose idea it is.
