I witness several difficult cases. Some turned out successful and some did not end well.
At some point, I felt so disappointed in myself, assuming I didn’t try enough. Some other times I took on the challenges of another person’s issues and turn them to my own worries. Funny, isn’t it?
Further training and certifications at my early stage of counseling confirmed that the ultimate outcome depends largely on the parties willingness to apply the counsel received. I eventually learned not to make another person’s responsibility for my own.
No matter how professional you are as a counselor, no issue(s) will be resolved beyond what the parties concerned are willing to allow and work on. Therefore, if you are like me at the early stage of my counseling experience, you’ve got to free yourself and approach issues from a professional standpoint.
We clocked seventeen years on the 27th of July, 2019. One of the secrets of our success story is developing the ability to be flexible and adaptable.
We told ourselves that we are uniquely wired, meant to complement and not compete with each other.
We also resolved that we will be humble enough to go with any superior opinion on any subject we have to deal with.
Truth be told, it was not just a walk in the park. It was tough initially, but we progressively improved over time. We manage conflicts now way better than we used to do.
